Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (Emperors College of TOM, CA)

L.Ac (Emperors College of TOM, CA)

MTOM (Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine, Emperor's College of TOM, CA)

Dipl. of Oriental Medicine

Janel completed her Masters degree in traditional Oriental medicine graduating  Summa cum laude from one of the highest ranked schools in the country, Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.  She followed this with the completion of a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the highest degree available in the field and pursued by only a small percentage of acupuncturists. Her Doctoral capstone project consisting of research on the use of acupuncture as a treatment for idiopathic male infertility is published in the peer reviewed Journal of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In addition to her Doctoral fellowship, she concurrently completed a fellowship with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).

As a former competitive figure skater and current avid yogi, body mechanics, pain management, and injury recovery are a significant part of her acupuncture practice. She believes physical activity is a critical part of stress management and mental well being.

Janel also has advanced training and certification in Cosmetic Acupuncture which allows her to bring her love of skincare into her acupuncture practice.  She believes that how we see ourselves and how we present ourselves to the world relates to an internal sense of wellbeing. If we see ourselves as stressed, aging, and burdened; we appear this way to others. If we feel beautiful, vibrant, and at peace; we engender this.

Janel has a passion for helping people find the most happy, healthy, and vibrant version of themselves.  Her favorite part of her job is watching the shift in patients as they become empowered and begin to live from their heart, and take charge of their healing, vibrancy, and internal beauty.
